Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground meat and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce and stir to combine.
- Pour the pasta and sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Sprinkle evenly over the pasta.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are lightly browned.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the sauce. For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
