For the Cookies
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this to the butter mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
