Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
