- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese, salt, and pepper until melted.
- Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Transfer to a baking dish. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
