Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta

Ingrédients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 oz penne pasta
For the Chicken
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until golden and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and chicken to the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce. You can also substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream if preferred.
