- Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Do not let it brown.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce begins to thicken slightly.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, reserved pasta water, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
