Easter Cookie Dough Eggs

Ingrédients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
For Decoration
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 drop food coloring optional

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and cut into egg shapes using the cookie cutter.
  5. Place the cut-out dough eggs on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Mix the powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Add food coloring if desired.
  7. Decorate the chilled cookie dough eggs with the glaze and let set before serving.

Notes

Store the decorated eggs in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
