For the Cake Pops
  • 1 box cake mix plus ingredients listed on the box
  • 1 cup frosting any flavor
  • 24 lollipop sticks
For the Coating
  • 2 cups candy melts pastel colors
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
For Decoration
  • sprinkles Easter-themed

Method
 

  1. Bake the cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl. Mix in the frosting until the mixture holds together.
  3. Shape the mixture into small egg shapes. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Melt the candy melts with vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted candy, then insert it into a cake pop. Repeat for all pops.
  6. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, tapping off excess. Decorate with sprinkles while wet.
  7. Let the cake pops set upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand. Chill for another 30 minutes before serving.
