Ingrédients
  

For the Meal
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 ounce, undrained
  • 1 can kidney beans 15 ounce, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, and cumin. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Serve hot. You can top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped cilantro if desired.
