For the Trifle
  • 1 package sponge cake or pound cake cut into cubes
  • 2 cups custard prepared
  • 1 cup mixed berries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp sherry or fruit juice optional

Method
 

  1. Arrange the cake cubes at the bottom of the trifle dish.
  2. Drizzle the sherry or fruit juice over the cake if using.
  3. Layer the mixed berries over the cake.
  4. Pour the custard evenly over the berries.
  5. Top with whipped cream.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
