Ingrédients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 oz penne pasta
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add diced tomatoes, dried basil, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce. Stir in fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if using.
  5. Serve warm.
