Ingrédients

For the Cupcakes
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
For the Frosting and Decorations
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 1 tube black decorating gel
  • 1 tube green food coloring

Equipment

  • Muffin tin
  • Mixing bowls
  • Piping bag

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, using the eggs, oil, and water. Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with batter.
  3. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
  4. For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until smooth and fluffy.
  5. Add green food coloring to the frosting until you achieve the desired shade. Frost the cooled cupcakes.
  6. Cut the marshmallows in half diagonally to create Frankenstein's hair. Place two halves on top of each cupcake.
  7. Use the black decorating gel to draw eyes, a mouth, and stitches on each cupcake to resemble Frankenstein's face.

Notes

For extra spookiness, add candy eyes or licorice for hair. Store the cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
