Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Once churned, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2-4 hours, or until firm.

Notes

You can add mix-ins like chocolate chips or fruit during the last few minutes of churning.
