Method
- Season the chicken pieces with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Do not boil.
- Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Stir in nutmeg, if using.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat with the Alfredo sauce. Heat through for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
