Equipment

  • Donut pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, egg, pumpkin puree, milk, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and maple syrup. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired drizzling consistency.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze or drizzle it over the top.

Notes

You can add a pinch of allspice to the spice mix for extra flavor. For a richer glaze, use heavy cream instead of milk.
