Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, egg, pumpkin puree, milk, and vegetable oil until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and maple syrup. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired drizzling consistency.
- Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze or drizzle it over the top.
Notes
You can add a pinch of allspice to the spice mix for extra flavor. For a richer glaze, use heavy cream instead of milk.
