Ingrédients
  

For the Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs
For the Filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
For the Icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • purple, green, and gold food coloring

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warmed milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the butter.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and shape into a ring. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.
  9. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the icing. Divide into three bowls and tint with purple, green, and gold food coloring.
  10. Drizzle the colored icing over the cooled cake in alternating stripes.
