For the Rice
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups water
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables e.g., carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup cooked protein e.g., chicken, tofu, shrimp
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Method
 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the rice in a rice cooker with the water according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. While the rice cooks, chop the vegetables and prepare your chosen protein.
  4. Once the rice is done, fluff it with a fork and divide it into two bowls.
  5. Top the rice with the vegetables and protein.
  6. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil before serving.
