For the Steak
  • 2 ribeye steaks 1-inch thick
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 sprig rosemary

Method
 

  1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the melted butter for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
