For the Strawberries
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
For the Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
  2. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  3. Layer shortcake cubes, strawberries, and whipped cream in serving cups. Repeat layers.
  4. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving.
